Illuminatio (Fire&Ice)

Illuminatio is an ephemeral intervention/performance that reflected on the metaphor of illumination and mixed fire, ice and electric light. I made it in the frozen lake of Savitaipale (Finland) on the occasion of the Fire&Ice Festival.

It was formed by 18 columns that had a total of 126 ice blocks that together weighed more than 20 tons. Each column had 7 blocks that were joined together with water that froze and fixed the blocks together.

The performance featured music created specifically by Monoceros.
